The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan has announced the start of the selection of consulting companies for the implementation of a project to improve the quality of oncology services and build oncology centers. The project is financed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in the amount equivalent to 156,3 million USD. This was reported by the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".
According to her, consultants will be engaged to provide support in project management, preparation of detailed engineering designs and specifications, development of tender documents, supervision of construction activities, as well as monitoring and evaluation of results.
The project implementation is divided into two stages: preparation and procurement (18 months) and supervision of the hospital construction works (36 months, including a 12-month warranty period). The start of the works is planned for the third quarter of 2025.
Consulting companies with extensive experience in projects of similar type and scale financed by the Government of Turkmenistan, IDB or other international financial institutions are invited to participate in the competition. Mandatory requirements include a license for medical activities, experience of work in Turkmenistan and knowledge of local legislation in the field of design and construction.
The preliminary selection will take into account the number of similar projects over the past 10 years, geographical experience in Central Asia and knowledge of IDB guidelines. Consultants will be selected using the quality and cost evaluation method.

Consulting firms may team up to enhance their expertise through joint ventures or subcontracting arrangements.
