The possibility of opening air traffic between the Astrakhan region and Turkmenistan along the Astrakhan-Ashgabat and Astrakhan-Turkmenbashy routes is being explored. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Relations of the Astrakhan Region Vladimir Golovkov during a discussion of the development of international air traffic in the region at a meeting with journalists on January 15, 2025.
Golovkov also noted that Iran is another current destination, but, unfortunately, today Russian carriers are not interested in it. However, negotiations are underway with Iranian companies.
