A new large urea production plant will be built in Turkmenistan

During the working visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Japan, an important agreement was signed on the construction of a new production facility in the Balkan velayat.

The state concern "Türkmenhimiýa" has concluded a Framework Agreement with an international consortium, which includes the Japanese companies "Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd." and "Mitsubishi Corporation", as well as the Turkish company "Gap Inşaat Yatirim ve Diş Ticaret Anonim Şirketi".

According to the document, the consortium will carry out the design, procurement and turnkey construction of a urea production plant in the village of Gyyanly in the Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan. The production capacity of the new enterprise will be 1 155 thousand tons of products per year.

This agreement was one of 15 bilateral documents signed during the Turkmen leader’s visit to Japan, which underlines the active development of economic cooperation between the countries.
