Turkmen representatives took part in the Erasmus+ seminar

Professors, teachers, and students of universities in Turkmenistan took part online in the seminar “Ways of Universities’ Participation in International QS and THE Rankings”, held within the framework of the European Union’s Erasmus+ program from September 19 to 20.

The seminar was organized in a hybrid format at the Alisher Navoi State University of Uzbek Language and Literature in Tashkent, the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan reports.

The seminar participants studied the possibilities and ways of including universities in international educational rankings.

During the seminar, Turkmen representatives shared their experience and identified new areas of cooperation to strengthen the positions of universities in international rankings.

International experts, including representatives of the Erasmus+ programme in Uzbekistan, heads of the higher education system, as well as specialists from universities that have taken positions in international rankings, spoke in detail about ways to increase the activity of universities to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the positive impact of the inclusion of universities in the QS and THE rankings.

Turkmen representatives, having studied the relevant experience and opportunities, outlined specific goals for improving the quality of education and including universities in international rankings. In addition, the results of the seminar opened the way for new initiatives and projects that will have a positive impact on the further development of the education system, the source notes.

This seminar was part of the European Union's Technical Assistance (TAM) programme, which aims to provide advice and support for modernizing the quality of education in higher education institutions. Within the framework of this programme, TAM aims to achieve its objectives through various events, seminars, conferences and meetings.
