Turkmenistan took part in an international seminar on the development of vocational skills centers

The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in an international seminar on capacity building and peer learning dedicated to the establishment and development of Centers of Excellence. The event was held from 20 to 23 May at Villa Gualino in Turin, the country's Ministry of Education reported.

The seminar was organized by the European Training Foundation with the support of the Network of Excellence and funding from the European Union within the framework of the DARYA project (Dialogue and Action for Resourceful Youth in Central Asia).

The seminar was attended by delegations from five Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the European Union and the Eastern Partnership. The working languages ​​of the event were English and Russian.

Participants discussed the development of vocational education and training, the role of Centers of Professional Excellence as key change agents in their countries. Comparative models of such centers in different countries were presented, best practices were analyzed, and country development plans were proposed taking into account national characteristics.

On the first day, participants presented national models of Centers of Professional Excellence, familiarized themselves with European strategic documents in the field of vocational education and visited two centers in Turin, where they studied the practical use of tools for developing excellence and interaction with employers.

The second day included an exchange of opinions on the results of the visits, a discussion of key components of professional excellence - the quality of teaching, partnership with business, digitalization and sustainability of development.

The final day was devoted to studying the International Self-Assessment System for Centers of Excellence ISATCOVE. Participants learned about the methodology of the system, the experience of its implementation in Spain, Latvia and Moldova, held country sessions on the selection of priority assessment criteria and the formation of national development plans.

Following the seminar, the participants outlined specific steps for further work and pledged to present their developments to national partners upon returning to their countries.
