Students from Turkmenistan won 1 silver and 3 bronze medals at the 59th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad for School Students, which was held from May 5 to 13 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
In particular, among Turkmen schoolchildren, Rustem Jumaev was awarded a silver medal.
Bronze medals were awarded to Aygul Atajanova, Diyar Dovletov and Jeren Akmuradova.
The award ceremony took place on May 12.
About 200 schoolchildren from 40 countries took part in the international Olympiad. It is one of the most prestigious competitions among schoolchildren from all over the world and has been held since 1967. In 2024, it was held in China, and the 60th International Mendeleev Olympiad will be held in Moscow in 2026.
