Turkmenistan's initiatives in digital education presented at Education World Forum

During his participation in the Education World Forum, the head of the Turkmen delegation, Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Azat Atayev, spoke at a high-level panel discussion on the topic “What challenges and opportunities does digital transformation bring to education?” This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The session was also attended by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Ghana Haruna Idrisu, Director General of the Ministry of Education and Merit of Italy Sabrina Capasso and Senior Advisor on AI in Education at the Education Observatory Mike Trucano, who also moderated the meeting.

In his speech, the Turkmen speaker emphasized his country's commitment to promoting digital transformation in the education system. He presented national initiatives aimed at developing digital content, introducing artificial intelligence into the educational process and creating a unified national educational platform. A. Atayev also noted the importance of using data-driven approaches to personalize learning and improve teaching effectiveness.

He emphasized the key role of partnerships - both public and private - in ensuring a successful and sustainable transition to digital technologies. It was also noted that Turkmenistan has created an advisory council with the participation of heads and experts of private educational institutions to support the decision-making process and build capacity.

The session also discussed the ethical aspects of using artificial intelligence in education, the need to create an inclusive and safe digital environment, and the implementation of international standards. Atayev reaffirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to global standards, such as UNESCO recommendations and the OECD principles for digital learning.
