Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyev held a meeting with Turkmen students studying at higher educational institutions of the republic. The event took place at the Belarusian State Medical University, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
Before the meeting, the diplomat held talks with the rector of BSMU, Professor Sergei Rubnikovich. The parties discussed the development of cooperation in the fields of education and science, the quality of the educational process for Turkmen students and their living conditions in Belarus. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for deepening cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries.
Representatives of the rector's office and the faculty of the university, students and employees of the Embassy of Turkmenistan took part in the ceremonial event.
Professor Vasily Rudenok, Vice-Rector for International Relations of BSMU, and Ambassador Shagulyev delivered welcoming speeches.
In his address, the Turkmen diplomat noted the peaceful foreign policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan and spoke about the plans for events in connection with the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. The ambassador recalled that the current year marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality, which will be solemnly celebrated on December 12.
Shagulyev held a conversation with students about the importance of developing high moral qualities and a sense of patriotism in the younger generation. According to him, the harmonious development of the individual plays a key role in the training of qualified specialists who can make a worthy contribution to the prosperity of Turkmenistan and strengthening its international authority.
