Turkmenistan took part in the 68th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna

The delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan Yazguly Agabayev, took part in the 68th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) at the UN Office in Vienna. This was reported on the website of the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Austria.

During the session, which was attended by representatives of member states and international organizations, issues of global drug policy, international cooperation and strategies to combat drug trafficking were discussed.

The delegation of Turkmenistan reaffirmed the country’s commitment to strengthening international efforts to combat drug-related problems and promoting a balanced approach that combines law enforcement measures and public health protection.

Turkmenistan emphasized its active involvement in regional and international initiatives aimed at combating drug trafficking, reducing drug abuse and developing multilateral cooperation.

On the sidelines of the forum, the delegation of Turkmenistan also took part in side events where best practices in innovative approaches to strengthening global drug policy were exchanged, the source notes.
