The delegation of Turkmenistan held talks with the leadership of Coventry University as part of a visit to the UK to participate in a meeting of the Joint Turkmen-British Trade and Industrial Council. According to the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the parties focused on issues of expanding academic cooperation, exchanging experience and introducing advanced educational technologies.
Turkmen representatives visited the London branch of Coventry University, where they got acquainted with educational programs that meet high international standards. Particular attention was paid to innovative approaches to teaching, the integration of digital technologies into the educational process and the university's cooperation with the business sector.
During the meeting with the Head of the School of Management at Coventry University in London, Dr. Joanna Voulgaropoulou, the prospects for cooperation in the field of postgraduate education were discussed. The University offers Master's and Bachelor's degree programs in the field of marketing, economics, finance and global business. Issues of access for Turkmen students to the international alumni network, support for foreign students and the organization of specialized master's programs were also discussed.
The meeting was a logical continuation of educational cooperation between the countries, which began in April 2024 during the visit of the British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to Turkmenistan, when education was identified as one of the key areas of bilateral relations.
Coventry University, which is included in the prestigious international rankings Times Higher Education and QS Education Ranking, has significant experience of international cooperation with branches in Egypt, Morocco, Poland, Kazakhstan, Algeria and the countries of Southeast Asia.
Following the negotiations, the parties expressed interest in continuing the dialogue and organizing expert consultations for detailed development of cooperation formats, which opens up new opportunities for the integration of Turkmen universities into the global educational space.
