University of London plans to open educational programs in Turkmenistan

The possibility of implementing educational programs of the University of London in Turkmenistan was discussed in London. The implementation of the programs will allow Turkmen students to obtain international diplomas without leaving the country. The discussion took place on March 7 at a meeting within the framework of the meeting of the Turkmen-British Trade and Industrial Council (TUKTIC).

The British side emphasized the importance of the high level of development achieved in the education system of Turkmenistan and expressed its readiness to support the country’s more active participation in the international academic space. In particular, the possibility of implementing educational programs of the University of London in Turkmenistan was discussed.

The curricula of the University of London were developed under the guidance of leading colleges of London in the following areas:

  • Computer Science (Goldsmiths, University of London) – training specialists for the digital economy.
  • Business Administration (Royal Holloway, University of London) – training managers for the private and public sectors.
  • Legal Studies (Queen Mary, University of London) – training specialists in the field of international law.
  • Marketing (Royal Holloway, University of London) – training specialists in marketing.
  • Finance and Accounting (London School of Economics and Political Science, LSE) – training specialists for the financial sector.

The opportunities opened up by the British Education Network (BEN) were noted. It is a platform that unites leading universities in the UK and provides broad access to advanced educational technologies. Through BEN, students can study under the educational programs of the University of London.

The University of London Is a partner of more than 100 universities in 40 countries. The Recognition Framework is used with partner universities. Its use also ensures that partner universities meet the high standards of British education.

The British side noted that the cooperation structure could also include such areas as:

  • Support for teaching English, organizing certified IELTS and TOEFL tests in Turkmenistan.
  • Development of academic exchange, which will provide teachers and students with new opportunities to exchange experiences.
  • Use of flexible forms of learning, including online courses and blended learning.

Representatives of Great Britain noted that the implementation of educational programs of the University of London in Turkmenistan will be an important step in the development of a modern, competitive system of higher education.
