Syrian ballerina Yara Khdeir entered the Guinness Book of Records by performing the splits between two moving quad bikes, snob.ru reports with reference to the organization’s website.
Maintaining her balance in the split position, Yara covered a distance of 470 meters across the Dubai desert at a speed of about 10 km/h. In setting the record, she was helped by drivers from the UAE – Mohamed Albloshi and Abdullah Alhattawi, whom the ballerina had not met before, but entrusted her safety to them.
According to the established rules, during the entire attempt, Yara had to keep her hands either raised or on her waist, and the quad bikes were required to maintain a speed of at least 5 km/h. The attempt was considered complete if the ballerina grabbed the rope.
“I am, of course, happy and proud that after many years of hard work I am reaping the fruits of my success. I still strive to be the person people always knew me to be – bringing surprises,” the record holder shared her emotions.
