Turkmenistan has become one of the co-authors of the resolution aimed at strengthening international security and preserving the historical memory of World War II. The document, adopted without a vote during a UN meeting, calls on participating countries to unite in the fight against global threats and the peaceful settlement of international conflicts, the official UN website reports.
Key provisions of the resolution include a call for peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with the UN Charter and the need to refrain from the threat of force in international relations.
The resolution also proposes holding a solemn meeting of the General Assembly in memory of the victims of the war in May 2025.
In addition to Turkmenistan, the document was co-sponsored by Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
