A provocative exhibition has taken place in Copenhagen, causing a wide public response. Chilean artist Marco Evaristti presented an art installation called “And Now You Care,” which was intended to shock viewers and draw attention to the problems of animal cruelty, pravilamag.ru reports with reference to Associated Press.

The installation involved placing three live piglets in a shopping cart without access to food or water. The artist intended to demonstrate the cruelty of modern agriculture, where thousands of piglets die every year due to poor living conditions.

The public reaction was not long in coming. Denmark's largest animal protection organization expressed strong disagreement with the method of attracting attention. Representatives of Animal Protection Denmark emphasized that, despite understanding the artist's concerns, starving living creatures is unacceptable and illegal.

Evaristti received hundreds of threats and was forced to contact the police. In addition, the day after the exhibition opened, the piglets were stolen by unknown persons.

For reference, this is not the first scandalous performance in Marco Evaristti's career. The artist has previously attracted attention with provocative art objects, including an experiment with aquarium fish in blenders, which also caused sharp criticism and litigation.
