During their visit to Ashgabat, the head of the Shanghai Museum of Art Collection Hu Muqing and the head of the international relations department of the Mao Xiwei Museum got acquainted with the activities of the capital’s museums and visited the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan.
As reported by “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the guests from China were given a tour of the university, during which they were introduced to the exhibits of the “Golden” fund of the university, where the best diploma, course and competition works of students from different years are stored.
As part of the tour, the administration of the educational institution and teachers introduced the delegation to the history, art, traditions and customs of the Turkmen people.
Mr. Hu Muqing, impressed by the tour, particularly highlighted the paintings and sculptures of Ahal-Teke horses, emphasizing that these world-famous horses are not only a national treasure, but also an object of scientific interest.
At the same time, the honorary guest voiced the idea of the possibility of cooperation with Turkmenistan.
The Shanghai Art Collection Museum is a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and the China Museum Association. It is noted as a public organization and is included in the models of the National Cultural Heritage Administration and the Shanghai Municipal Cultural Heritage Administration.
