Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Belgium Sapar Palvanov held a meeting with Euronews Chairman of the Board of Directors Pedro Vargas David.
During the conversation, the Turkmen diplomat presented the country’s media diplomacy, focusing on Turkmenistan’s active participation in the international information space. The ambassador noted the importance of the upcoming 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust. He also spoke about the country’s contribution to regional stability and the development of relations with the European Union.

The Chairman of Euronews presented his company as a leading European media platform with a reach of 1.2 billion people in 19 languages. According to him, the site and mobile application receive around 29 million unique visitors every month.
Pedro Vargas David announced a planned visit to Turkmenistan, where he intends to meet with representatives of local media and government agencies responsible for the information sphere. He emphasized Euronews’ commitment to the principles of neutrality, noting that the coverage of events in Central Asia is carried out objectively and impartially.
The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation, including the promotion of tourism and cultural exchange, coverage of significant events in Turkmenistan and the possibility of including the country in existing Euronews programs.
