Doctors from the regional hospital of Herat (Afghanistan) visited Ashgabat in April on a working visit, during which they held meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan. This was reported by the press service of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Herat.
During the talks, the parties paid special attention to issues of bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry and medical technologies. Afghan doctors discussed the possibility of exporting high-quality and affordable medicines produced in Turkmenistan at a joint Turkmen-Indian antibiotics plant to Afghanistan.
The possibility of Turkmen producers supplying medicines and medical equipment to Afghanistan was also discussed.
The Turkmen side expressed its readiness to expand cooperation with Afghanistan in this area, providing information on the activities of enterprises producing pharmaceutical products and medical equipment.
Afghan doctors confirmed their interest in deepening cooperation with Turkmenistan and emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences to improve the healthcare systems of the two countries.
