The European Immunization Week is being held in Turkmenistan, organized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of the country jointly with the Country Office of the World Health Organization and the Representative Office of the United Nations Children's Fund.
This year, the week runs from April 27 to May 3 under the theme “We can achieve immunization for all”, with the key theme being the need to rapidly achieve high and equitable vaccination coverage in all communities. The campaign raises awareness about vaccines and the importance of reaching everyone with health protection through immunization.
The Week will also include a meeting on the progress of implementing the National Immunization Program of Turkmenistan for 2024-2028, a round table with the participation of specialists from UN agencies working on health programs, medical workers and students, reports Turkmenistan: Golden Age.
European Immunization Week (EIW) is celebrated every year in the WHO European Region to promote the idea that immunization is essential to prevent disease and protect lives.
