Allanur Dayanjov won the title of Turkmenistan Tennis Champion for the first time in his career, beating last year's winner Meylis Orazmuhammedov in the final with a score of 7:5, 7:5. The fourth-year student of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan won a confident victory in the tournament, which was held on the courts of the multifunctional stadium "Ashgabat", reports the publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The championship brought together 114 athletes (64 men and 50 women) from the Ahal, Dashoguz, Lebap, Mary velayats and Ashgabat. On the way to the final, Dayanjov, seeded sixth, beat Didar Vepamyradov in three sets in the semifinals - 4:6, 6:2, 6:1. His mentor, the coach of the national team, the first racket of Turkmenistan Yuri Rogussky, who missed the tournament due to injury, played a significant role in the tennis player's success.
In the women's tournament, the champion title was reclaimed by 15-year-old Ilima Guseynova, a 9th-grade student of Ashgabat specialized secondary school No. 42. This is the third championship title in the talented athlete's career. In the final, she defeated Leyli Esenova, who rose to the second step of the podium for the first time in the adult championship.
Young tennis players from Mary also distinguished themselves. In men's doubles, gold medals were won by 17-year-old Resul Atayev and 16-year-old Nazim Kasymov, who beat the pair Allanur Dayanjov/Serdar Vepamyradov in a tense final with a score of 6:4, 4:6, 14:10. Atayev also won bronze in singles.
In the women's doubles, Ilima Guseynova and Aylara Kakabayeva won, defeating the pair Aisha Bikbulatova/Aynur Movlyamova in the final – 6:2, 4:6, 10:7.
