President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani to take part in the international peace forum, which will be held on December 12 in Ashgabat. The event will be dedicated to the proclamation of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" at the initiative of Turkmenistan, as well as to the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality, TDH reports.
The invitation was announced during a telephone conversation. The Prime Minister of Iraq accepted the offer with gratitude, noting that it would be a great honor for him to take part in the forum, and stressed the importance of Turkmenistan's international initiatives aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development.
During the conversation, the interlocutors exchanged congratulations on the beginning of the holy month of Oraza, wishing that the prayers offered during this blessed period would be accepted by the Almighty.
The President of Turkmenistan described the bilateral relations as fruitful, based on mutual respect, equality and trust. He also expressed gratitude to the Republic of Iraq for the systematic support of Turkmenistan's foreign policy and its initiatives in the UN and other international structures. Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, in turn, noted that Iraq highly values interstate relations with Turkmenistan, built on the principles of friendship and brotherhood. The parties emphasized that the basis of these relations are the centuries-old ties of the two peoples, who have a common history, culture and traditions.
