Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov took part in the prestigious international race “Tokyo Marathon – 2025”. The event brought together more than 38,000 participants from all over the world and is one of six marathons included in the prestigious World Marathon Majors series. This was stated in a statement by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan.
In an interview with media representatives, Ambassador Bayramov emphasized the importance of the policy of the Turkmen leadership to promote a healthy lifestyle and attract young people to physical education and sports. He noted that thanks to the initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the consistent work of the President of Turkmenistan, all conditions for the development of sports have been created in Ashgabat.
The diplomat also mentioned Turkmenistan’s contribution to the global development of sports through UN resolutions adopted at the country’s initiative, including the proclamation of June 3 as World Bicycle Day and the resolution “Integration of mass cycling into public transport systems to achieve sustainable development.” The Tokyo Marathon, held annually under the patronage of the city authorities, has platinum status from World Athletics and is a distance of 42 km 195 meters.
