An interdepartmental meeting was held at the Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The meeting participants included representatives of the Turkmendemiryollary and Turkmenavtoulaglary agencies, the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan OJSC, employees of a number of transport and logistics companies in the country, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, as well as private entrepreneurs and customs brokers.
The customs service specialists informed the participants about the measures taken to simplify customs procedures and promote trade growth, including the possibility of providing preliminary electronic information on goods imported into the country, as well as obtaining the status of an Authorized Economic Operator.
As reported on the customs service website, practical examples of the provision of preliminary information by international carriers were presented during the meeting. The customs procedures for goods exported from Turkmenistan were also explained, including the clearance of goods crossing the customs border on the basis of permits from government agencies.
The meeting participants expressed a common opinion that the interaction of customs, government control and law enforcement agencies with participants in foreign economic activity will lead to the achievement of significant results, the source notes.
