Pakistan offers Turkmenistan quotas for free education in its universities

Pakistani Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ahsan Vahan announced his readiness to provide Turkmen students with budget places in universities of his country in the fields of banking, railway transport, IT, pharmaceutical industry and language education. This became known during a meeting between the ambassador and the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan J. Gurbangeldyev on February 19.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries. The Minister of Education informed the Pakistani diplomat about the work being done to improve the quality of education in Turkmenistan and the successes achieved at the national and international levels.

Particular attention was paid to the upcoming joint events. The Pakistani side received an invitation to participate in the international conference "Dil — hoşniýetli gatnaşyklaryň möhüm serişdesi" ("Language is an important tool for good relations" - editor's note), which will be held in February 2025 at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as in the II International Mathematical Olympiad for schoolchildren in Ashgabat in April this year.

During the meeting, an initiative was also put forward to establish cooperation between the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov and the Agricultural University of Faisalabad in the field of agricultural economics and livestock. In addition, the Pakistani Ambassador expressed his readiness to conduct an "open lesson" for students of specialized universities in Turkmenistan, sharing his diplomatic experience.
