Turkmenistan, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are working together to develop oncology services and ensure the safe and effective use of nuclear medicine in the country's healthcare.

Within the framework of these efforts, the imPACT pre-mission was conducted in Turkmenistan, which is an important step in assessing and strengthening national capacity to fight cancer.

The mission will provide valuable insights and recommendations to improve the diagnosis, treatment and care of cancer patients, as well as to ensure high standards of safety and effectiveness in the use of nuclear technologies in medicine.

This initiative underlines the commitment of the IAEA, WHO and Turkmenistan to joint efforts in the fight against cancer and improving public health, according to a press release from the WHO Representative Office in Turkmenistan.

Earlier, we reported that Turkmenistan will involve IAEA experts in the project to build the International Oncology Center
