From January 20 to 24, the first meeting of the European Union project «Addressing Environmental Challenges, Social Needs and Effective Governance in Education and Employment in Central Asia» (ESGCA) was held in Genoa (Italy). The meeting was attended by partner organizations, representatives of higher education institutions of the countries participating in the project: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
Representatives of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshigeldy Kakayev and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan took part in this meeting from Turkmenistan.
The participants discussed the structure of the project and the stages of its implementation. A strategy for the implementation of master's programs and innovative solutions were also developed.
Turkmen speakers Gadam Akmyradov and Maksat Churiev made a presentation about the International Oil and Gas University named after Yagshigeldy Kakayev and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, as well as the work carried out in these universities under the project.
As part of the meeting, a preliminary version of the ESGCA project website was prepared, located at https://esgca-erasmus.com/ and including information and photos about the meeting, as well as data on higher education institutions participating in ESGCA.
Let us recall that the project «Addressing Environmental Challenges, Social Needs and Effective Governance in Education and Employment in Central Asia» (ESGCA) within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ program was launched in 2025. The project activities are designed for 3 years. Turkmenistan's participation in it confirms the country's readiness to develop international and regional cooperation on the «green» and climate agenda.
