Within the framework of the XVII Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS Member States, which takes place in Ufa, Jamilya Kurbanova, head of the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, spoke in the panel discussion “Commonwealth of Independent States: common values and diversity of cultures".
Jamilya Kurbanova spoke about the large-scale celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi, whose legacy is included in the UNESCO "Memory of the World" register. Within the framework of her presentation, she donated a number of Magtymguly collections and recordings of music created by Turkmen composers. "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" reports this.
Jamilya Kurbanova emphasized in her speech that the Bashkirs and Turkmens have many points of contact in the field of culture and traditions. At the same time, the Bashkir women’s jewelry “bilezik” was given as an example, a version of which can also be found in the traditional attire of Turkmen girls.
-I think that joint research and popularization projects should be implemented in the future, - noted the Turkmen speaker.
Representatives of seven CIS countries spoke at the panel discussion “Commonwealth of Independent States: Common Values and Diversity of Cultures”: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
During the discussion, it was mentioned that today 2400 students from Turkmenistan are studying at Bashkir universities, the source notes.
