Specialists from the European Regional Office of the World Health Organization visited Turkmenistan on a consultative and technical visit.
The purpose of the visit was to help strengthen national laboratory capacity for surveillance of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), the IIC reports.
The mission was organized by the WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan with the support of the WHO Regional Office for Europe.
The mission representatives visited AMR surveillance laboratories and held meetings and seminars with relevant specialists.
WHO/Europe consultant Marina Suhorukova also presented recommendations for the preparation of the National Guidelines for AMR Laboratory Surveillance, the source notes.
