Turkmenistan took part in the first meeting of the Termez Dialogue

From May 19 to 21, the first meeting of the Termez Dialogue on the Interconnection between Central and South Asia was held in Termez, Uzbekistan, on the theme: “Building a Common Space of Peace, Friendship and Prosperity.”

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the forum was attended by heads of foreign policy departments, experts from analytical and research centers of Central and South Asian countries, representatives of financial institutions, international and regional organizations.

The forum discussed the current state and prospects of interregional cooperation between Central and South Asia, including issues of strengthening cooperation in ensuring security, stability and sustainable development, as well as expanding the role of the private sector and financial institutions in ensuring economic growth.

Turkmenistan was represented at the meeting by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov, who voiced current issues and initiatives to strengthen cooperation between the countries of Central and South Asia in the transport and logistics, energy, economic and humanitarian spheres.

It was noted that, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly declared 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust, which became a clear expression of recognition of Turkmenistan's activities aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development.

Participants in the Termez Dialogue expressed their conviction that the agreements reached at the meeting contribute to the further advancement of interregional connectivity and the maintenance of peace, security and stability on the vast Eurasian continent, the source notes.
