Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, Ambassador Vepa Hajiyev took part in the first audience of the new head of the Roman Catholic Church Pope Leo XIV with the diplomatic corps and in the solemn mass on the occasion of the beginning of his pontificate. The events took place on May 16-18 in the Vatican, the press service of the Turkmen permanent mission reports.
The Turkmen diplomat conveyed congratulations and best wishes from the leadership of Turkmenistan to Pope Leo XIV.
In his speech, the pontiff called for peace, justice and interreligious dialogue. He also expressed his readiness to help resolve international conflicts.
