Turkmenistan Day was held at the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe in Copenhagen. The event was dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, TDH reports.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of Turkmenistan, WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge, heads of departments of the organization, as well as representatives of various WHO Member States, who connected via videoconference.
Turkmenistan's achievements in the healthcare system, including the prevention of infectious and non-communicable diseases, increasing the health literacy of the population and the coverage of preventive vaccinations, meet international standards and are exemplary, Hans Kluge emphasized at the opening.
The event discussed priority areas for further cooperation. The delegation of Turkmenistan, together with the heads of departments of WHO/Europe, held a round table, where they presented the successes of the country's healthcare system over the past 30 years during the implementation of the State Program "Saglyk".
The parties also discussed preparations for the international conference scheduled for October of this year as part of the exhibition "Healthcare, Education and Sports in the Era of the Renaissance of a New Era of a Powerful State". The conference will be attended by representatives of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, ministries of health of the countries of the region, UN bodies and other international organizations.
