The Turkmenistan national hockey team beat the Turkish team in the second round of the World Championship in the third division of Group A.
The match took place in Istanbul and ended with a score of 2:1 (1:1, 1:0, 0:0). The winners' goals were scored by Kerven Bayliyev (8th minute) and Alexander Vakhovsky (22). The only goal for the Turkish team was scored by Ferhat Bakal (17).
In other matches of the day, the Kyrgyz team defeated the Luxembourg team with a score of 6:0, and the South African hockey players beat their opponents from Bosnia and Herzegovina with a score of 3:2.
The tournament table is headed by the national teams of Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, they have six points each, followed by Turkey and South Africa, they have three points each, and Bosnia and Herzegovina and Luxembourg are at the bottom of the table, they have no points.
The World Cup in Group A of the third division will last until April 27. The winner will receive a promotion – a ticket to the second strongest division, Group B.
Ilyas Veliyev's team will play their next match against the Luxembourg team on April 24. The match starts at 15:00 Ashgabat time. Then the Turkmen team will play with Kyrgyzstan (April 25) and South Africa (April 27).
