The Turkmenistan national hockey team defeated the Bosnia and Herzegovina team with a score of 3:1 (1:1, 0:0, 2:0) in the opening match of the World Championship in the third division of Group A.
The match took place in Istanbul. Musa Annasaparov (5th minute), Kerven Baylyev (47) and Dovlet Khydyrov (50) scored goals for the Turkmen team.
In other matches of the game day, the Kyrgyzstan team defeated the South African team (5:2), and the tournament hosts, the Turks, defeated the Luxembourg team (7:1).
The third division tournament of Group A is being held in Istanbul from April 21 to 27. Six teams are taking part in the competition: Turkmenistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Africa, Luxembourg, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
Ilyas Veliyev’s team will play their next match against the Turkish team on April 22. The match starts at 22:00 Ashgabat time. Then the Turkmen team will play against Luxembourg (April 24), Kyrgyzstan (April 25) and South Africa (April 27).
