A traditional iftar was held at the residence of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey in Ashgabat, bringing together representatives of various faiths and public figures of Turkmenistan, the embassy’s page X reports.
The gala evening dedicated to breaking the fast in the holy month of Ramadan was attended by the Mufti of Turkmenistan Yalkap Hojaguliyev, Catholic and Orthodox clergy, which emphasized the interfaith nature of the event.
The honorary guests of the iftar were also resident ambassadors of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, employees of the Turkish embassy, representatives of business circles and administrators of Turkish-Turkmen educational institutions.
After the Mufti of Turkmenistan Yalkap Hojaguliyev read the traditional prayer, all those present began to eat. The guests were offered a variety of traditional Turkish dishes prepared according to special recipes in accordance with the traditions of the holy month of Ramadan.
