Istanbul International Airport has introduced a unique service for travelers with animals - a specialized Pet Lounge. The new 250 square meter space, including a 32 square meter outdoor terrace, is located in the B building of the terminal.
The comfortable lounge area can accommodate 32 dogs, 36 cats and 10 birds at a time. The premises are equipped with separate entrances and are under constant supervision of veterinary specialists.
The service is provided free of charge for animals traveling under the AVIH category (transportation in the baggage compartment). You can use the Pet Lounge services if you have at least 60 minutes before the departure of a direct flight or 75 minutes for a transfer.
Despite the presence of veterinary staff, the center does not perform medical procedures without the consent of the animal owners. It is important to note that the service is not available for pets traveling in the aircraft cabin (category PETC), and pet owners do not have direct access to the lounge area.
