National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in connection with the unanimous adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution “United Nations Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan”, initiated by Kazakhstan. In his address, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed deep gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his personal contribution to strengthening friendly ties between the two states, which have reached the level of a multifaceted strategic partnership.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty emphasized that this Resolution opens up new opportunities for regional cooperation aimed at creating a “dynamic and renewed Central Asia” and providing comprehensive support to Afghanistan. It was especially noted that the adoption of the document took place during the International Year of Peace and Trust, declared by the General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also expressed gratitude for the support of Turkmenistan’s neutral foreign policy and its international initiatives, noting that Turkmenistan, in turn, respects Kazakhstan’s international proposals.
