Chairman of the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan, Vice President of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Eziz Dovletov held talks with Secretary General of the UAE Tennis Federation Nasser Yousef Al Marzouqi on the possible participation of Turkmen athletes in the ATP 500 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship tournament next year. The meeting took place in Dubai during this prestigious competition, the publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" reports.
In addition to discussing the participation of Turkmen tennis players in the Dubai tournament, the heads of the federations touched upon the development of tennis in both countries. In particular, the prospects for holding joint training camps, training sports psychologists and developing padel tennis, which is gaining popularity in the world, were discussed.
Nasser Yousef Al Marzouqi expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the hospitality extended to the UAE team during the Ashgabat Open 2024 international tournament, especially noting the high level of organization of the competition.
This year, the winner of the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai was the famous Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas.
