Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Vahid Jalalzade, during which the parties discussed the current state and prospects for strengthening bilateral partnership, paying special attention to the trade and economic sphere as a key area of cooperation.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the diplomats exchanged views on cooperation in the political, diplomatic, cultural and humanitarian fields, and discussed the international and regional agenda.
Representatives of the foreign ministries of the two countries noted the successful holding of the 17th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Consular, Border and Customs Issues, which indicates systematic work to develop cooperation.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to develop in a positive way, and joint efforts will contribute to further strengthening the partnership and historical ties between the peoples of the two countries.
