Turkey plans to hold Turkmenistan Culture Days in 2025 and open the Yunus Emre Cultural Center in Ashgabat, Turkish Ambassador Ahmet Demirok said at a press conference.
“Cultural interaction is of particular importance for our fraternal countries. We note the growing interest of the Turkmen audience in Turkish TV series, films and music” the diplomat noted.
Education remains an important area of cooperation. There are currently 545 students studying at the Turkmen-Turkish school in Ashgabat, from preschoolers to high school students. Since 1992, more than 5,000 Turkmen students have received Turkish scholarships to study in Turkey, including 45 people in 2024.
The 4th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkish-Turkmen Council for Cooperation in Education will be held in the near future, where it is planned to discuss the prospects for further cooperation, Ambassador Demirok emphasized.
