The Turkmenistan women’s futsal team defeated the Tajikistan team 1:0 in the third round of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) championship in Dushanbe.
The only goal In the match was scored in the 12th minute by the midfielder of the Turkmenistan team and Lithuanian Zalgiris Maya Musatskaya.
In another match of the day, the representatives of the Iranian team defeated the Kyrgyzstan team 10:0.
The matches of the next, fourth round of CAFA-2025 among women’s national teams will be held on February 14. On this day, the Turkmenistan team will play the Iranian team, and the futsal players of Uzbekistan will meet their rivals from Tajikistan.
The tournament Is held according to the round robin system. The winner will be determined by the highest number of points scored.
Following the third game day, the Turkmenistan team scored 4 points and moved up to second place in the standings. Iran is leading (6 points), Kyrgyzstan is third (4), Uzbekistan is in fourth place (3), and Tajikistan is at the bottom of the standings without any points. The national teams of Iran, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have one game in reserve.
This is the fourth CAFA Futsal Championship among women’s national teams. The tournament was established in 2022. In 2022 and 2024, the CAFA Futsal Championship among women’s teams was held in Dushanbe, and in 2023 – in Tashkent. The Iranian women’s futsal team has won all tournaments.
