Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov informed the President of Iran that the Turkmen side had agreed on the transit of its gas through Iran under the SWAP scheme with the Turkish oil and gas company BOTAŞ.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people invited Masud Pezeshkian to Ashgabat for the International Leaders Forum and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality, which will take place on December 12.
During the conversation, Chairman Halk Maslahaty announced Turkmenistan’s support for organizing consultations between the foreign ministries of both states: in this regard, it was proposed to send Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov on a visit to Iran in the coming days.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that on February 17-18 this year, the third Caspian Economic Forum will be held in Tehran, which will also be attended by a high-level delegation from Turkmenistan. In addition, the National Leader of the Turkmen people proposed to hold a regular meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation soon.
