The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Belarus received an official notification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia regarding new rules for international freight carriers. The document contains important changes in legislation that will come into force from the beginning of 2025.
According to the State Protocol of the Republic of Latvia, amendments to the Law on Excise Tax establish the following restrictions:
- Maximum fuel capacity in trucks from non-EU countries is 200 liters
- From January 1, 2025, commercial vehicles exceeding the specified fuel limit will not be allowed into Latvia
These rules apply to all transport companies from countries that are not members of the European Union, including carriers from Turkmenistan.
