On November 26, a large-scale international conference on transport and communications ITTC 2024 will begin its work at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The event will open with a welcoming speech by the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakyev.
Leading international experts are expected to participate, including the Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) Umberto de Pretto and the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt. Representatives of TRACECA, the Organization of Turkic States and transport ministers from a number of countries will also take part in the conference.
The first day’s programme will include a high-level plenary session where experts will discuss the role of interregional transport systems and issues of efficient integrated transport. In parallel, a special session will be held on the role of women in the transport sector, where success stories will be presented and prospects for developing an inclusive corporate culture will be discussed.
Particular attention will be paid to the issues of financing sustainable transport. The first day of the conference will end with the UN campaign “Safe Roads for All”, within the framework of which new initiatives in the field of road safety are planned to be presented.
