JSC Turkmenistan Airlines has launched regular domestic flights via the new Balkanabat International Airport. Since May 19, 2025, the airport has been serving passengers from all regions of the country.
As previously reported, the airline is temporarily suspending all flights to the city of Turkmenbashi. The routes suspended include Ashgabat - Turkmenbashy - Ashgabat, Turkmenabad - Turkmenbashy - Turkmenabad, Mary – Turkmenbashy - Mary and Dashoguz - Turkmenbashy - Dashoguz.
Instead, JSC Turkmenistan Airlines launched alternative flights with a similar route structure, replacing Turkmenbashy with Balkanabat. Now passengers can use the following routes: Ashgabat - Balkanabat - Ashgabat, Turkmenabat - Balkanabat - Turkmenabat, Mary - Balkanabat - Mary and Dashoguz - Balkanabat - Dashoguz.
The first passengers to use the airport's services are actively sharing their positive impressions on social networks, noting the modern infrastructure, comfortable conditions and high level of service in the new terminal.
