On May 10, Ashgabat hosted the “Business on the pulse” forum, dedicated to digitalization and its role in the development of entrepreneurship. The event was organized by Arassa Nusga and Lotta Business Group with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The forum brought together a wide range of participants representing various sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan, including trade, distribution, production and services. The key topic of discussion was the role of modern technologies in ensuring business growth, optimizing management processes and maintaining control when scaling.
The forum paid special attention to practical experience in implementing such tools as ERP (enterprise resource planning systems), CRM (customer relationship management systems) and BI (business intelligence systems). Entrepreneurs shared their own stories of transition from manual management to automated systems, and consultants presented an analysis of typical mistakes and successful strategies in implementing accounting systems.
The forum participants actively shared their impressions. One of them noted: "The forum made it clear: if problems start in business at a certain stage of development, it is not because we are doing something wrong. It is just that when a business grows, it is no longer possible to manage manually." Another participant emphasized: "I understood what I should do to stay informed about everything, even when I am on business trips."
During the interactive session, participants identified the most pressing management issues their companies face:
"At the end of the month, I still don't understand how much profit is actually left."
"The flow of clients has decreased - and it's unclear why."
"The whole day is spent on routine, and there is no time for strategy."
Alexander Petrosov, director of Arassa Nusga, commenting on the problems voiced, noted: "These are typical symptoms of companies that have outgrown manual management. Business cannot grow on intuition. It needs tools: transparent accounting, analytics, CRM, system processes."
The main conclusion of the forum was the emphasis on the fact that digitalization today is not just a fashionable trend, but an urgent need to ensure the further development and growth of companies. In the conditions of the modern market, it is extremely important for businesses to be transparent, manageable and flexible in order to effectively use emerging opportunities and avoid potential losses. The forum demonstrated that Turkmen businesses are actively striving to implement a systematic approach to management.
This trend is fully consistent with the state strategy for digital development of Turkmenistan, and the private sector is demonstrating its willingness to follow this course.
