Turkish national carrier Turkish Airlines reminds about the existence of a program aimed at improving the quality of service for passengers with invisible disabilities. Within the framework of the program, which started in 2022, the airline began issuing special badges depicting sunflowers, the international symbol of invisible disabilities.

The program covers a wide range of conditions, including chronic diseases, diabetes, dementia, autism, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, dyslexia, joint problems, mental health disorders and sleep disorders. Passengers with these conditions can obtain a distinctive badge at Turkish Airlines counters in Istanbul Airport terminals.

This discreet method of identification allows airline staff to recognise passengers who require additional support without drawing undue attention to their condition. Assistance may include assistance with terminal navigation and additional time when boarding and disembarking.

As a reminder, Turkish Airlines operates 11 weekly flights between Ashgabat and Istanbul.
