Representatives of the Turkmen Energy Forum (TEF) took an active part in two major international events - "Platts London Energy Forum 2025" and "London Energy Week", which were held in London from February 24 to 27. Both forums brought together leading energy industry experts from around the world to discuss current issues and trends in the global energy sector.

The “Platts London Energy Forum 2025”, organized by S&P Global Platts, brought together over 500 delegates from 200 companies and 40 countries. Key topics of discussion included: the integration of traditional and future energy sources, fossil fuel consumption in different regions of the world, decarbonization challenges and the transition to clean energy.

The oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan was the focus of attention at the forum. Swap deliveries of Turkmen gas to Turkey and the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline were discussed during the session "Global Gas in the European Context". S&P Platts experts noted that the 30 billion cubic meters of gas that Turkmenistan annually exports to China are equivalent to 60 million tons of coal, demonstrating the country's significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

An important trend of the forum was the active implementation of artificial intelligence in the oil and gas industry. Compared to last year's event, where the emphasis was on renewable energy sources, this year the forum participants emphasized the importance of natural gas as an environmentally friendly fuel for the energy transition.

Within the framework of the forums, TEF representatives presented the International Forum on Attracting Investments into the Economy of Turkmenistan (TEIF 2025), which will be held in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) from April 23 to 25. Key investment projects will be presented at this event, including the development of the “Galkynysh” gas field, participation in the development of offshore blocks in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, optimization of production at mature fields and other areas.

At a meeting with S&P Global Platts CEO Craig Powers, the involvement of the company's experts as session moderators at TEIF 2025, as well as technical training for specialists in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan, was discussed.

Turkmenistan's positive experience in reducing methane emissions, especially at the Chaljulba (Darvaza) field, attracted the attention of forum participants. An agreement was reached to prepare a scientific article with updated data on Darvaza. Experts were invited to the upcoming scientific and practical conference "Environmental Aspects of Hydrocarbon Field Development (TESC 2025)", which will be held in Ashgabat on June 5.
