The possibility of accreditation of Euronews journalists in Turkmenistan with the subsequent opening of a correspondent office in Ashgabat was discussed today at a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the delegation of the Euronews television company headed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors Pedro Vargas David. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Noting the positive experience of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Euronews, the parties spoke in favor of developing partnership on a systemic basis with the use of new formats.
Further development of cooperation includes interaction to raise public awareness of Turkmenistan’s potential in the areas of culture, sports, tourism, the country’s initiatives in the field of sustainable development, ecology, transport and green energy. Particular attention was paid to events of international importance scheduled to be held in Turkmenistan during the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The parties also discussed the possibility of establishing cooperation in such areas as improving the qualifications of Turkmen journalists and cooperation between Euronews and local TV channels, the source notes.
