The head coach of the national freestyle wrestling team of Turkmenistan, Yusup Melejayev, is assisted in training wrestlers by the famous coach from Iran, Ali Asghar Bazri, the silver medalist of the 2006 World Championship and the champion of the 2006 Asian Games. This was reported by the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
The Iranian specialist already had experience working with the Turkmen men's team; he prepared athletes for the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which took place in the Ashgabat Olympic village.
Earlier it was reported that the Turkmenistan national freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling team began international training camps in the Dagestani city of Khasavyurt. The team of 18 leading athletes of the country is preparing for the Asian Championship, which will be held from March 24 to 28 in Oman.
