A plant producing gasoline from natural gas in Turkmenistan is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” reports.

The innovative facility was listed in the Guinness World Records on June 28, 2019, as the world's first plant producing gasoline from natural gas. Its innovation and environmental friendliness are confirmed by the EURO-5 certificate of the Environmental Protection Agency (USA).

The plant produces ECO-93 gasoline, which complies with the EURO-5 standard, suitable for all types of passenger cars (the design capacity of the plant is 600 thousand tons), as well as 115 thousand tons of liquefied gas from associated products and 12 thousand tons of purified diesel fuel that does not contain sulfur annually, processing over 1 billion 410 million m3 of natural gas.

The industrial complex occupies an area of more than 580 hectares and was built through the joint efforts of the State Concern “Turkmengaz”, a consortium of companies Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. (Japan) and Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri Inşaat Sanaýi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Türkiye).

The training of specialists was carried out by partners: a Japanese company for the production infrastructure, and a Turkish one for the administration of the process.

Today, 800 specialists work here on advanced equipment, the majority of whom are Turkmen, the source notes.
