The Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan held an online meeting with representatives of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Asmannews reports. The parties discussed issues of creating a tourism brand for the country.
The meeting was attended by specialists from the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Germany, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and Economics, as well as representatives of the Academy of Arts.
UNWTO experts noted the enormous potential of Turkmenistan to attract foreign tourists due to its favorable geographical location, rich natural landscapes, historical and archaeological attractions, numerous ancient monuments and modern infrastructure.
The meeting participants noted the importance of creating a strategy for promoting the tourism brand “Turkmenistan” abroad, as well as adopting marketing programs to popularize this brand for each individual country. The importance of establishing activities and taking measures to develop the tourism industry in accordance with modern requirements was emphasized.
Earlier, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the Program for the Development of International Cooperation of Turkmenistan in the Field of Tourism for 2024-2025. To implement this program, an interdepartmental working group was created to create a unified national tourism brand and motto of Turkmenistan.
